“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” or as Shakespeare put it, “Beauty is bought by judgment of the eye.” Therefore, if one of my paintings evokes an emotion from a viewer, then I have succeeded.

As an artist, it is impossible not to become acutely aware of your surroundings, constantly scanning for an image that would be exciting to paint. Colors, shapes, shadows, moods. However, I try to follow a few basic rules. First, I strive to paint with commitment to express good form, structure, and balance within each design. I also paint and associate with other artists to exchange creative ideas and techniques.
